Fall hydrant flushing will begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, weather permitting.

Grafton Water District crews will be flushing hydrants Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The flushing program is expected to continue for approximately 6–8 weeks.

During and following hydrant flushing, residents may experience temporary water discoloration. This is normal and occurs when iron and other naturally occurring mineral deposits in the water mains are stirred up during the flushing process.

If you experience discolored water, we recommend running water from an outdoor spigot, if possible, until the water runs clear. If an outdoor spigot is not available, run cold water only from a faucet for approximately 15–20 minutes. Avoid using hot water while discoloration is present, as this can draw discolored water into your hot water tank.

📍 Daily Flushing Updates
We will post daily updates on our flushing progress and the areas where crews are working so residents can stay informed as flushing moves throughout the District.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews perform this important maintenance to the water distribution system.
