Information About Your Water Bill

Water Bills. Most Grafton Water District customers receive bills four times a year (quarterly.) Billing dates are the first day of the month in January, April, July and October.

Water Payments. We accept cash, check or credit cards. Please note, we do not accept Visa. Make checks payable to Grafton Water District.

  • Drop off payment at our office at 44 Millbury Street. Business hours are: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, except for holidays. Outside these hours, you can leave a check in the slot (to the left of the door.) We pick it up the next business day.
  • Mail a check to P.O. Box 537, Grafton, MA 01519.
  • Issue a check online via your bank’s bill payer system. We receive a physical check from your bank.
  • Pay Online via UniPay. You will need your account number (usually a 12 digit #) Make sure you enter them exactly as they appear on your bill.

Final Bills

There will be a $50.00 charge for final readings, in addition to the actual usage amount. All outstanding charges are the responsibility of the present property owner.

Homeowners, Realtors and Attorneys who are selling a property should request a final water reading prior to the closing.

Please allow two weeks for processing.

You will need to pay both your final water bill and your final sewer bill before selling the property.

Late Fees

For non-payment, a late fee of $10.00 plus 2% of the account balance will be assessed.

    • Second Notice — Mailed on the 1st of the 2nd month of the quarter (February, May, August and November)
    • Final Notices — Mailed on the 1st of the 3rd month of the quarter (March, June, September and December)

  • Service shut offs — occur on the 15th of the 3rd month. A $100.00 service charge will be assessed.

Hardships: If you are having a hardship, please call the office to schedule payments.
